Hotel information
Jumby Bay Island is a fabulous all-inclusive luxury retreat set on its own 300-acre private island, two miles off the coast of Antigua. Tranquil and car-free, this piece of Caribbean paradise is the perfect spot to celebrate a milestone birthday, honeymoon, family get-together, or just because.
Accessible only by boat and without a car in sight, there’s nothing but the sounds of nature and the crystal-clear turquoise waters lapping against the white powdered beaches. Space and seclusion are a way of life at Jumby Bay, with only a few select guests and an abundance of palm-fringed paths and lush gardens to roam. It's a truly unique and wonderful place where couples can find privacy, as well as being fantastic for families as children can safely roam free and enjoy the outstanding Jumby Explorers kids' club.
The island, and all its properties, are owned by a group of homeowners passionately committed to preserving this sublime slice of paradise. Amongst initiatives including a recycling programme and Hawksbill turtle conservation project, Jumby Bay has become one of the richest island ecologies in the world.
It’s impossible to tire of the beauty of this island, but when guests do decide to retreat indoors, Jumby Bay flaunts an exceptional décor created by renowned Brazilian interior designer, Patricia Anastassiadis. Contemporary flair and elegance seamlessly combine with laid-back Rattan furnishings and nautical touches, a nod to Antigua’s heritage and breath-taking natural beauty. The lovely public areas – including the lounge, bar and reception - have also been transformed into natural, calm and tasteful spaces.
From honeymooning couples to larger families and celebratory gatherings, Jumby Bay Island has the perfect option for all. Amongst the elegant accommodation at the heart of the resort, the Beachside Suites feature magnificent vaulted ceilings and an outdoor shower and soaking tub set in a calming private courtyard, while the Pool Suites are elegant one-bedroom abodes with spacious terraces overlooking the sea and a private pool. Families, or those who simply require additional space or privacy, can choose from a selection of two to four bedroom villas, each equipped with an array of amenities.
The accommodation jewels in Jumby Bay’s glittering crown are undoubtedly the Private Residences, as perfect for one off, special occasions as they are simply for choosing to reside in paradise for a few weeks. Dotted around the island, there are just 22 of these ultra-luxurious, individually designed and decorated “home from homes”, featuring up to nine bedrooms and including the services of a private chef, butler and housekeeper. Each one is a masterpiece in its own right yet at the same time, as warmly-welcoming as you would expect from any much-loved family home.
Dining options include The Estate House restaurant which draws on the culinary traditions of the West Indies to create a fine dining experience that combines classic fare with modern island flavours. The Veranda Restaurant and Bar and The Pool Grille overlook a fabulous oceanfront infinity pool, which seamlessly draws your eyes towards panoramic views of the sea. The most recent addition is a gorgeous infinity beach pool situated on the white sands of Jumby Bay Beach. Truly the best of both worlds – opt for a swim in the turquoise Caribbean Sea or a dip in this chic pool while enjoying pool-side service.
Saturday evenings bring a different dining experience to the island with the legendary ‘White Party’ on the beach. White linen gleams as the sun dips below the horizon and live DJ music fills the air. The night includes a sumptuous gourmet beach barbecue featuring delights such as flame-grilled steak and lobster.
The joys of Jumby Bay Island don’t end there. The resort is fully inclusive, meaning guests can arrive with nothing but their swimwear and have not a worry in the world. The all-inclusive experience makes no sacrifice on exclusivity with free-flowing Taittinger champagne, yacht trips and all-day dining part of a stay on this exceptional island.
Then, of course, there’s the world-class Jumby Bay Spa, winner of the ‘Caribbean’s Best Resort Spa 2019’. Infused with elements of nature, the treatment menu combines West Indies traditions with modern therapeutic practices – such as the Tata Harper organic massage that uses a nourishing serum produced with extracts from the island’s indigenous Neem tree. Whether you've come to enjoy life in paradise, indulge in the spa or read a good book, make sure you spend at least one day in indolent relaxation, toes in the sand, cares carried out to sea on Antigua's warm trade winds…and let this island work its magic on you.
With all of this and so much more to offer, it’s no wonder that Jumby Bay Island is a part of the Oetker Collection, whose hotels are true masterpieces in some of the most desirable destinations in the world.

At the heart of the island sits the Veranda, offering delicious options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in an open-air setting. For breakfast, there is a choice between an à la carte menu and a continental selection. For lunch and dinner, guests are transported to a traditional Italian trattoria serving home-made pastas, fresh seafood and meat seasoned with Jumby Bay Island’s Farm herbs and produce.
The Estate House
The Estate House offers a glorious fine-dining experience with dishes that are carefully designed to enhance the delicate flavours of the freshest seafood, meats and produce of the Caribbean. The restaurant includes a main dining room, the 1830 bar, a wine room and three private dining spaces. Curated local artworks depict local Antiguan life and the building’s décor offers a contemporary perspective on colonial design.
The Pool Grille
For those who can’t tear themselves away from the water’s edge, the Pool Grille is the ultimate casual bistro spot. The eatery has a spectacular beachfront setting and infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea, with the option to dine under the shade of the canopy or order from one of the sun-soaked loungers.
Activities & Entertainment
Activities
Jumby Bay’s oceanfront spa is irresistible. The sumptuous treatments are inspired by indigenous natural elements such as sugar cane, molasses, spices and rum. For something a little more active, take advantage of the three tennis courts, croquet lawn, putting green, three miles of hiking trails, 25-metre lap pool and infinity pool, as well as a variety of watersports, including waterskiing, windsurfing and sailing. Nature walks, eco tours and weekly snorkelling trips to nearby Bird Island are also highly recommended. Every guestroom, suite and villa feature its own bicycles so exploring the island’s three miles of stunning trails couldn’t be easier.
Allowing you to embrace your enviable location on the Caribbean Sea, the Jumby Bay Watersports Centre offers an array of thrilling activities atop the waves – from paddle boarding and snorkelling to exploring the island aboard the resort’s custom-built catamaran. An incredible Sailing Academy hosts various courses for guests of all ages and abilities, using state-of-the-art boats and expert instructors.
Another highlight is the seasonal Hawksbill Turtle Program, which runs from June to November. As the Pasture Bay Beach at Jumby Bay Island is one of the world's primary nesting sites for endangered hawksbill turtles, guests can sign up to take part in a turtle watch – so why not play an important role in helping these ancient reptiles?
Entertainment
Jumby Bay Island offers a wealth of exceptional dining options. Indulge in some freshly caught seafood, select prime and aged steaks and rotisserie chicken at the Verandah Restaurant, a stylish yet unpretentious venue situated directly next to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. For a more intimate experience, book a table at The Kitchen – up to eight guests can enjoy exclusive use of the Verandah’s kitchen, with a personal chef and sommelier on hand to help you make those all important decisions.
The resort also offers a variety of unique entertainment experiences, such as watching movies under the stars at the Verandah or on blankets in the sand. The island is perfect for romantic evening strolls, as the beaches are lined with flaming tiki torches; afterwards, a romantic turndown with scattered bougainvillaea petals, candlelight, Champagne and strawberries will make the perfect end to a perfect day.
A weekly beach barbeque with a live steel band, dancing and bonfires are sure to ignite a festive atmosphere, while a resident astrologer can point out the crystal clear constellations that twinkle above the glimmering Caribbean Sea.
Celebrations & Big Birthdays
A tropical island paradise just off the coast of Antigua - Jumby Bay is the perfect setting for special occasions. Book a suite, villa or a private residence if you’re a larger multi-generational family, for the best social gatherings and life celebrations. For complete privacy, reserve the entire island for an exclusive buy-out – the 300 acres of lush greenery and pristine white beaches make it easy to gather in discreet seclusion.
