Hotel information
High in the Himalayas of Bhutan, Six Senses Paro guarantees tranquillity and authentic experiences at every turn. Perched on the site of an abandoned 16th century ‘dzong’ fortress, take in majestic views of the forested Paro Valley and the iconic Tiger's Nest.
The lodge belongs to Six Senses Bhutan, a collection of five properties within this small landlocked country, sandwiched between India and China. Stay in one of the lodges or, for the best experience of Bhutan, combine all five into one tailor-made itinerary.
Bordered by forested mountain peaks, Paro Valley is one of the most scenic settings within the Six Senses Bhutan journey. Uniquely designed to maximize its surrounding history and incredible valley views, expect sumptuous suites, wonderful dining experiences, and of course, the legendary Six Senses Spa and Wellness Centre.
Six Senses Paro offers a small and personal feel with just 20 spacious villas and suites. As an ode to the ancient stone ruins adjacent to the property, some rooms have feature walls composed of hand-chiselled, local stones blended with stylish wood-panelling. All rooms feature extensive windows so you can enjoy the best views from both your bed and deep-soaking bath.
Perched directly above Paro National Museum, there’s plenty to do in the area. Stroll around some of the vertiginous rice paddies and discover nearby ancient monasteries. Hike to Tiger’s Nest, a significant cultural icon of the Kingdom or test your precision with a game of archery, Bhutan’s national sport. Soothe tired muscles at the spa and achieve deep relaxation with the healing vibrations of singing bowls. In the evening, dine in the main pavilion with a sprawling scenic terrace, or try one of the Destination Dining options for which Six Senses is renowned.
Room Options
The 20 spacious villas and suites each enjoy striking views of Paro Valley. The stonework and wooden panelling pay homage to traditional Bhutanese architecture. Stylish, muted tones blend with local antique-washed Himalayan rugs and traditional wood burning stoves.

Additional Information
Culture
From short valley floor walks to full-day mountain hikes to see wild mountain goats, langur monkeys and the occasional leopard, Paro Valley is also the starting point for many of Bhutan’s all-ability treks. Make the stunning two to three-hour trek past fluttering prayer flags to reach the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery, or horseback ride to a viewing point halfway. Activity seekers should visit Jele Dzong, reached through flower meadows, forests and yak pastures. Next to the lodge, light butter lamps to dispel darkness and take a moment of reflection at the 15th century Samtenling Monastery.
Spa
From hot stone baths to Swedana therapy, savour complete tranquillity at Six Senses Spa Paro. The wellness hub houses four treatment rooms, a fitness centre, outdoor sauna and cool dip, yoga room, private meditation and an indoor pool. The focus is very much on psychological wellbeing, with a whole host of activities including group meditation, bathing rituals, and holistic therapies. There’s also visits from practitioners who will guide you towards optimum well-being. Spa highlights include a Bhutanese Herbal Body Scrub and a Wild Kashmir facial using exotic Kashmir lavender.
