Day 1 UK – Dar es Salaam

Board your London Heathrow flight bound for Dar es Salaam, via Nairobi.

Day 2 Tanzania – Selous Game Reserve

Once you’ve arrived in Tanzania you will be transferred by light aircraft to the Selous Game Reserve. Enjoy a game drive on the way to the Selous Serena Camp, where you will be staying for the next four nights. Spend the rest of the evening enjoying your luxurious tent and private deck, complete with sun loungers and views over the river.

Day 3 Selous Game Reserve

You will spend the next three days exploring Selous, which is the largest game reserve in Africa. Your stay at the Selous Serena Camp includes daily game drives, a river cruise, bird and bush walk and a bush breakfast.

Day 4 Selous Game Reserve

The reserve is an immense expanse of untouched wilderness spread over 50,000 square-kilometres, and there is a staggering amount of wildlife present here. The landscape is diverse, made up of wide grassy plains, swamps, forested woodland, riverbanks and vast savannahs.

Day 5 Selous Game Reserve

Another day to explore the reserve. The Rufiji River is the heart of the reserve, where hippos wallow, crocodiles lurk and countless other animals stop to drink. The reserve is home to Africa’s largest concentration of elephants, and there are also huge populations of buffalo, wildebeest, lions and more. Enjoy both river safaris and game drives in the reserve to get a better understanding of the complex ecosystem here.

Day 6 Selous Game Reserve – Zanzibar

Enjoy a last game drive through the reserve this morning before transferring to the airstrip for your journey to Zanzibar. Check-in to White Sand Villas, where you will be staying for the next six nights. The resort’s spacious villas and stylish rooms offer seclusion and are the perfect place to rest and relax after your busy safari adventure!

Day 7 Zanzibar

Everything at White Sand Villas epitomises relaxation – whether you’re enjoying a sundowner cocktail on the rooftop bar, lazing by the pool or reclining in the shade under tall palms. Close to Paje beach, the resort’s location makes it the ideal place to stay to explore some of the best highlights in Zanzibar.

Day 8 Zanzibar

Zanzibar is famous for its beautiful beaches, and spending an afternoon (or two!) simply relaxing on the sand and dipping your toes in the clear waters is blissful. More adventurous guests can take to the water for snorkelling or fishing excursions. The Indian Ocean coastline is dotted with traditional fishing villages, and you can cruise out on the azure waters in a dhow boat for an island-hopping adventure.

Day 9 Zanzibar

Another day to experience Zanzibar. Paje beach, just a short stroll from White Sand Villas is known as one of the best spots in the world for kitesurfing. The resort has its own club, Zanzibar Kite Paradise, where beginners and experienced kitesurfers alike are catered for. Snorkelling, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking equipment can also be hired here.

Day 11 Zanzibar

Zanzibar’s beaches are incredible, but Stone Town is truly an exceptional experience and a ‘must-do’ here. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a melting pot of cultures, history, art and architecture. There are plenty of historical sights and beautiful buildings to admire; look out for the intricate Zanzibari doors, and browse the many colourful boutiques and shops that line the streets.
