On this tour, you’ll see all the highlights of Namibia - from one of the largest deserts in the world to ship wrecks on the Skeleton coast.

Spot desert adapted animals in Damaraland and watch wildlife as they gather around waterholes in the harsh environment that they have had to adapt to. Hire a car and drive round the country, easily aided by your specially prepared driving directions and maps.

Itinerary

Day 1 UK – Windhoek

Board your London Heathrow flight bound for Namibia, stopping in Johannesburg.

Day 2 Okonjima – home of Africat

On arrival into Windhoek you will be met by our local representatives, given a self-drive briefing and assisted through your car hire. You will then start your exciting journey driving up three hours North to Okonjima where you will spend your first night. Africat is home to rescued and rehabilitated Cheetahs and other big cats, so you may have some great photo opportunities.

Day 3 Etosha National Park

Today you will make your way to Etosha, a further three and half hour drive. The scenery is vast and beautiful. Your day will end at the Onguma Private Game Reserve, where you will check-in for a two-night stay with dinner and breakfast included. Enjoy game drives on the private reserve with a guide (supplement), or choose to drive yourself around Etosha National Park in search of wildlife.

Day 4 Etosha National Park

Today you will have the opportunity to do game drives either on the reserve with an Onguma guide, or go into the park with a picnic yourself. The lodge also offers Rhino Conservation drives and night drives on the private reserve.

Day 5 Etosha National Park

Today you leave the eastern side of the park to go west. There are speed limits in place and you are likely to do this trip over two to three hours, depending on what you see along the way. Take a packed lunch with you and spend the day in the park. You will spend two nights at Ongava Lodge (dinner and breakfast included) in the South West of the Park.

Day 6 Ongava Private Game Reserve

You will be amazed at how different the park looks from the one side to the other! Ongava also offers rhino trekking as well as game drives. A hide provides the perfect photo opportunities. The lodge has a swimming pool for in-between cooling down after the heat of the day.

Day 7 Damaraland

Head south today for your two-night stay in Damaraland at the majestic Mowani Mountain Camp, with dinner and breakfast included. Here you will find elephants that have adapted to survive in the desert’s harsh conditions. Mowani Mountain Camp has been especially designed to blend in with its surroundings.

Day 8 Twyfelfontein

Spend your time today watching the wildlife in the area. Other activities include a visit to the rock art at Twyfelfontein or a relaxing lounge by the pool. Nature walks are also possible on the lodge reserve.

Day 9 Swakopmund

Early departure today for the Skeleton Coast. En route you will have the opportunity to see the Organ Pipes, Petrified Forest and Brandberg Mountain. There are also shipwrecks that are visible from the road as you venture through the National Park. Your day ends here at the Cornerstone Guest House for two nights with breakfast included.

Day 10 Swakopmund

Today we suggest booking onto a cruise from Walvis Bay to see the Seal colony and taste some Namibian oysters and sparkling wine. You may be lucky enough to see some dolphins from the boat. This is also an adventure enthusiasts’ haven: you can quad bike, visit Sandwich Harbour on 4x4 vehicles, dune board and more! There are many activities available here.

Day 11 Sossusvlei Desert

Today you will drive south to the desert and arrive at Little Kulala Lodge, where you will spend three nights with all meals and two daily safari activities included. Here you can arrange game drives in the nature reserve to see various desert species such as Oryx, Ostrich, Springbok and Black-backed jackal.

Day 12 Sossusvlei Desert

Early morning to catch the sunrise over the bright red dunes. With a private entrance into the park, Little Kulala Lodge guests benefit from being able to visit the park at first light. Try a climb up one of the famous dunes - Big Daddy - followed by a visit to Deadvlei, home to the iconic picture of a dead acacia tree in white limestone surrounded by the desert.

Day 13 Sesriem Canyon

Today you can take a venture out to see the Sesriem Canyon which is nearby. This afternoon you can go on a nature drive in the reserve or choose take out the quad bikes for a bit of an adventure. The lodge also has a swimming pool, if you’d rather chill for the afternoon.

Day 14 Windhoek

After your morning activity you will check out and commence your long journey back to Windhoek. We would suggest an overnight in Windhoek to prepare for your departure the following day in the early afternoon. Overnight at the Olive Exclusive with breakfast included.

Day 15 Windhoek - UK

Mid-afternoon, you will make your way to the airport, drop off your hire car and check-in for your flight to Johannesburg and continue onwards to London Heathrow.
