Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea approximately 30 kilometers off the North West coast of mainland Malaysia.
The islands remain relatively un-spoilt boasting spectacular natural landscapes, white sandy beaches, clear emerald waters, limestone outcrops, mist covered hills and lush forests rich in exotic flora and fauna and magical waterfalls.
Pulau Langkawi is the largest island and one of only two inhabited islands boasting luxurious elegant 5 star hotels, its stunningly beautiful and as with all of Langkawi appeals to those seeking relaxation as well as adventure, as here you can head off jungle trekking or explore the ocean canoeing or beneath the waves diving and delving into its hidden depths.
Langkawi is a beautiful place and the aim is to keep it that way by being under the UNESCO program, Global Geopark. The three parks most popularly visited by tourists are Machincang Cambrian Geoforest Park, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Dayang Bunting Park all offer spectacular views and an abundance of wildlife for you to explore whilst ensuring it’s protected.
The South of Langkawi is more heavily populated by tourism, in particular, Pantai Cenang, which is a beautiful beach area boasting a selection of restaurants and bars that are perfect for watching the sunset and are towered by admirable coconut palms and casuarinas.
