I’ve always had a passion for travel. I get just as much joy and excitement from planning a holiday as I do from actually visiting a destination. I relish researching and putting together an extensive itinerary of all to see and do. I get a great deal of satisfaction in helping others and combining this with my love of travel, becoming a flight attendant was my dream job.
I began my flying career with Caledonian Airways. I will never forget my first layover in Bahrain. I felt my senses were awakened. I saw the hustle and bustle of the local souk under an incredible sunset, smelt the incense, heard the calls to prayer, and tasted the traditional dishes.
I was fortunate to travel to many destinations with Caledonian Airways. Highlights included Kenya, Jordan, India, Florida, Canada, New York, and the Caribbean Islands of Barbados: Antigua, Grenada, and St. Lucia.
In 2000, I joined Air New Zealand and worked my way up to become an Inflight Service Co-Ordinator/Manager. I became an Ambassador for Air New Zealand and I felt proud to be part of an award-winning airline. I travelled to Los Angeles once a week for 20 years, and Hong Kong for six.
Favourite Destination – California
After 20 years of visiting California, I’ve found that there is still so much to see and do. There is something for everyone to experience, from the sun-kissed beaches, theme parks, lakes, mountains, and wineries. I’ve seen the Temecula Wine Country from a hot air balloon. I’ve whale-watched from Newport Beach. I’ve attempted to ski at Big Bear Lake, taken a cable car ride at Palm Springs, visited Lake Tahoe, and star gazed at The Joshua Tree. I was in awe at the size of the trees at Sequoia National Park. I would recommend travelling the Pacific Coast Highway, but make sure you travel from the North to the South to get the best views as you will be nearer to the ocean.
Favourite Hotel – Regent Porto - Montenegro
This hotel is in a fantastic location. It’s situated in the heart of the marina within a luxury Porto Montenegro Village, which is surrounded by stunning mountains. Transfer time from Tivat Airport to the hotel by car is approximately five minutes.
The Naval Heritage Museum is a five-minute walk from the hotel along the marina dotted with cafes, bars, and restaurants. The service and friendliness of the staff is impeccable. My favourite highlight was having dinner at Murano’s restaurant, overlooking the harbour, hearing the gentle sway of the super yachts, and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere.
Service Commitment from You
I’m a caring person and I get a great deal of satisfaction from being able to have a positive impact on people’s lives. I take pride in all I do, and I’m dedicated to ensuring you have the most amazing experience. I aim to exceed expectations every time.
Your Top Tips for Travellers
- Experience something that may not be accessible to you at home. I always try to do something I’ve never done before. For example, scuba diving in Mombasa.
- Pack a spare adaptor and change of clothes in your hand luggage.
- Never forget items from your safe. Place one shoe in the safe, so that when you pack to go home you won’t forget your valuables.
- Keep a journal. Give yourself the time to sit with your favourite drink, look out over some fantastic scenery, and contemplate what you have done in your day.
