Catalina Room

Catalina rooms offer a generous 550sq ft of space with king-size or twin queen beds and city or mountain views, from your private patio. Some also feature an outdoor shower so you can truly soak in the desert scenery.

Historic Room

Formerly the dormitories of the original 1920’s boarding school, these rooms are filled with both history and character. Set around the old courtyard, they also afford verdant views of the botanical gardens too; delightful.

Hacienda Room

Hacienda rooms are nestled within the grounds of the resort offering 400sq ft of space and lots of privacy too.

Deluxe Hacienda Room

These rooms vary in size, ranging from 265 – 700sq ft, and have the advantage of a private patio looking out over the desert scenery; blissful at sunset.

Suite

Each suite is unique, with fabulous features such as wooden ceilings, beautifully-tiled bathrooms, roaring fireplaces for cold desert nights and private patios with panoramic vistas. They range in size from 700 – 1,000sq ft, which also allows for a cosy, separate living room.

Casita

Make yourself at home at the Hacienda Del Sol with a stay in a Casita. These gorgeous 1,100sq ft dwellings enjoy the addition of a small kitchen, private patio and car parking space as well as an inviting living room with fireplace.

Catalina Suite

As the name suggests, this 1,100sq ft suite enjoys spectacular views of the Santa Catalina Mountain Range from its private patios. There is also a large lounging area and dining room here, as well as two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Tracy-Hepburn Casita Grande

Holiday like a movie star with a lavish stay in the Casita Grande, a 2,000sq ft, secluded residence comprising two bedrooms, a living room with fireplace, a kitchen and two patios with views out towards the desert.

Relax into your stay with a spa treatment, which can be enjoyed either in your own room or private patio. Swedish, hot stone and deep-tissue massages ease muscles while almost edible pear and apple or chocolate truffle body wraps nourish the skin. Take the time to really absorb the views from either one of the two sun-drenched pools. Both feature a jacuzzi while the Catalina pool near Terraza has an infinity edge and firepit, to take the chill off those desert evenings as you enjoy a spot of stargazing. When all the lazing around gets a little too much however, you can still continue to admire the views from the 24-hour gym and before heading home – don’t forget to take a peek inside the gift shop, selling all manner of locally made trinkets and treasures.

There’s really no need to step beyond the stunning surroundings of Hacienda Del Sol once here. The first-rate restaurants, beautiful pools, sun-kissed patios and lush botanical gardens filled with fascinating pieces of artwork will entrance you – yet the views are a constant call to explore. Those lured by the mountain vistas can head out on horseback into the unknown; saddle up at the hacienda’s stables, which offer guided horse treks as well as group and private lessons. If you prefer to stay on your own two feet then choose from easy walks around the hacienda’s 34 acres or more challenging trails beyond, into the Santa Catalina foothills. Or, it might be the bright lights of Tucson that beckon. If so, upscale shopping malls, fine art galleries and fascinating museums abound, all just a short drive away, or take advantage of the hacienda’s bike rental that includes a map, rucksack, helmet and bottle of water.
