Travel is my true passion and I love nothing more than sharing and inspiring others to do the same.
As far as I can remember I have been fascinated with travel. I came out of secondary school and immediately started my career in the industry as an apprentice in a high street travel agent, over twenty years ago. From there, I found my passion for long-haul luxury travel, which has allowed me to travel to destinations beyond my wildest dreams, from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, Middle East and the Far East.
I also love exploring destinations closer to home – particularly Italy, Greece and Spain – and have experienced many of Europe’s beautiful coastlines and historic cities. The wonderful thing about Europe is that every destination has a completely different culture, feel and history to offer. In France alone, you can experience the amazing city of Paris, the stunning beaches of St Tropez and the fabulous ski slopes in the 3 valleys.
All of the incredible destinations I've visited have given me unforgettable insight into different cultures around the world. Travel is my true passion and I love nothing more than sharing and inspiring others to do the same.
My travel specialism
My specialist areas are the Caribbean, Europe and ski destinations.
That said, I’ve done a vast amount of travelling over the past 25 years and have visited many places in between, including the Indian Ocean, the Middle East and the Far East.
My most memorable travel experiences
One of my most memorable trips was to the Seychelles. I just remember landing in Mahé Airport next to a pristine beach with crystal-clear waters and pure white sand. As soon as I arrived, I thought: “I’m in paradise”.
From there, we hopped over to the island of Praslin and it was there I found the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. It was almost too white to look at and I just remember the sound of the sand cracking beneath my feet like flour.
My favourite destination: Antigua
I love all the different areas of the Caribbean, as each island something has unique to offer, but my favourite has to be Antigua. The island is truly idyllic, from the tropical backdrop to the pristine white sand beaches. Antigua also has some seriously amazing high-end restaurants and the view from Shirley Heights over the island is simply breathtaking.
My favourite hotel: The Olivar Suites
I have many hotels that are on my favourites list, but one of my recent favourites is The Olivar Suites in Corfu. This small, boutique hotel is located on a quiet stretch of beach on the east coast of the island, in the beautiful Greek village of Messonghi. A former-olive oil mill, The Olivar Suites ooze with personality and character, while delivering the highest standard of luxury hospitality.
